There is a huge demand for liquor in Gujarat for the celebration of New year’s Eve. Bootleggers are now looking for new ways to smuggle alcohol in hiding from the police.
The bootleggers tried the technique of bringing alcohol from Silvassa when the police sealed the Daman border. Small village Goima’s bootlegger brought 156 bottles of liquor worth Rs 99,000 hidden under green turmeric were returned from Silvassa. However, when Pardi PSI Gohil’s team got the news, they caught the tempo on Goima Arnala Road just before it reached Goima and arrested its driver and cleaner and seized a large quantity of liquor.
