Today, December 22 is known as Mathematics Day in India. Today is the birthday of Srinivasa Ramanujan, an ardent Indian mathematician. In his honor, on February 26, 2012, former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh declared December 22 as Mathematics Day. A variety of math competitions are held in schools to celebrate this day.
