1191 competitors ran enthusiastically in the Beach Marathon organised by Sunday Sports Club on the beach of Valsad Tithal Swaminarayan Temple. Beach marathon started in Valsad by Sunday Sports Club for health awareness is unique from others. This marathon does not take place on the road, but in the sand at the beach. A unique enthusiasm was seen in this marathon.
21, 10, 5 and 3 km categories were held in Valsad’s Uffizio Beach Marathon. From children to 80 years old and women enthusiastically participated in these different categories. Dang District Collector Dr. Vipin Garg ran 21 km in this marathon of Valsad. Apart from this, a large number of district PSIs, policemen, doctors, businessmen and civil servants participated in the marathon.
Journalist Apoorva Parekh, MD Gym’s Dharaben Patel in the 21 km beach marathon, Jignesh Solanki of the Information Department, PSI J Saravaiya and PSI Amiraj Rana in the 10 km marathon, while dep. DDO Nilesh Shah journalists Harshad Ahir & Pratik Kotak flagged off the 5 km marathon run.
NCC cadets of Valsad and hockey team players of Bhilad College served as volunteers to make the marathon a success. The members of Sunday Sports Club including Nareshbhai Nayak, Chintan Trideep, Ashishbhai, Pragnesh Pandey, Vinaybhai, Bhagirathbhai, Kirtanbhai, Jitenbhai, Hiteshbhai, Yashbhai, Ankurbhai played an active part in organizing the marathon.
